I
started working with Ron in May 2012. I have been heavy all my life, and have
tried every diet and exercise program out there. I would have some
success with them, then would become bored with them. My weight would
creep back up along with some extra pounds. Hitting rock bottom for me was
weighing in at 315lbs and being chased down by a nurse because my blood
pressure was so high she was afraid I was going to, as she put it, “stroke
out”.
I
started dieting and exercising on my own in Feb. 2012 and had some slow success
which eventually stalled out. It was at that point I had my first
appointment with Ron. I’ve never been to a personal trainer before (I
thought only athletes and celebrities had them!) so I didn’t know what to
expect. Within the first 5 minutes of talking to him, he had me feeling
at ease and comfortable. With each session I have gained the knowledge of
how my body works, and how food and exercise affect
it. Ron always takes the time to answer my questions, and has never made
me feel I was asking a stupid question. Every week he makes our training
sessions fun, while still being challenging. He knew my limits and knows
when my body could be pushed further.
Now
it’s October 2012 and I’ve lost 115lbs so far (me?? really, who would have
thought!). I know for a fact I would not have stayed on this path without Ron’s
help. In the past if I would have had a “bad” day, or week I would have
given up. Whenever I have a downfall he would always lend an ear to listen
to my woos and would help me see these as learning experiences. He understands
what I’m going through because he had to struggle with his own weight in the
past.
I
know my journey is far from over but I’m confident I can be successful because
of Ron. I have so much more energy now and I’ve started jogging and
weight lifting. I’ve become a totally different person physically and
mentally. If I can do it you can do it with Ron’s help.
